Details of Levayah of Rav Refoel Shmulevitz zt”l

Tens of thousands are expected to attend the levaya Tuesday morning of Rav Refoel Shmulevitz zt”l, rosh yeshiva of Yeshivas Mir YerushalayiM, at the yeshiva in the Bais Yisroel neighborhood of Yerushalayim.

The niftar was taken overnight to the Shamgar Funeral Home, where talmidim and others have undertaken shemirah of the rosh yeshiva. In the morning, the aron will be brought to Yeshivas Mir, where the levayah will begin at 11:30 a.m.

The hespeidim are not expected to extend beyond 90 minutes. After the divrei hesped, the aron will be taken to Har Hamenuchos, where Rav Refoel will be buried in the new chelkas harabbonim there next to his father-in-law, Rav Avrohom Farbstein zt”l, rosh yeshiva of Yeshivas Chevron.

Hespeidim at the levaya will be delivered by Rav Eliezer Yehuda Finkel, rosh yeshiva of Yeshivas Mir Yerushalayim; Rav Yitzchok Ezrachi, brother-in-law of the niftar and a rosh yeshiva at Yeshivas Mir Yerushalayim;  Rav Aryeh Finkel, rosh yeshiva of Mir Brachfeld; Rav Moshe Mordechai Farbstein; Rav Avrohom Segal, son-in-law of the niftar and R”M at Yeshivas Mir Brachfeld; Rav Yaakov Shmulevitz, son of the niftar and a rosh yeshiva at Yeshivas Mir; Rav Berel Povarsky, rosh yeshiva of Yeshivas Ponovezh in Bnei Brak; Rav Aviezer Piltz, rosh yeshiva of Yeshivas Tifrach; and Rav Dovid Cohen, rosh yeshiva of Yeshivas Chevron, who, being a kohein, will deliver his divrei zikaron outside the yeshiva building.
