After winning five stars for 18 consecutive years in Israel’s annual “beautiful town” competition, Elad now won Israel’s “Flag of Beauty” in the category of towns with less than 50,000 inhabitants.

Judges noted the town’s hundreds of thousands newly planted trees and plants, its development of neglected privately owned areas, a high level of recycling and an educational archeological park.

“Elad’s resident have proved that as bnei Torah they know how to preserve quality of life and a clean environment,” said Mayor Yisroel Porush.
