Mega Millions Jackpot Rises To All-Time Record $500 Million

megamillionsThe Mega Millions jackpot reached a record $500 million — pre-tax — after no one picked all six numbers correctly Tuesday night. The jackpot had been at $476 million soon after the drawing, and by this morning had grown by $24 million.

The next drawing is this Friday, and any winner would be able to take that amount over time or an immediate cash payout of $359 million.

The new jackpot is $110 million more than the previous record set in March 2007.

Tuesday’s winning numbers were: 9 – 19 – 34 – 44 – 51, with the mega number 24.

Five of the six winning numbers were picked by 47 players, who each won $250,000.

The $1 lottery tickets are sold in 42 states plus Washington, D.C. The odds of winning are estimated at one in nearly 176 million.
The pot has grown massively since the last winner on Jan. 24 received $72 million.

  1. What will you do with all that $$$$? Rabbi miller says even if you think to yourself that if I had money I would give such and such amount to tzedaka, is considered as if you actually did, so buy a ticket and start fantasizing!!!

  2. “The odds of winning are estimated at one in nearly 176 million.”

Than if you pay 176 million dollars and get every ombination you forshure win. Than ou have this… $500 million minus 176 million is 324 million dollars

    Hello am i missing something

  3. “The odds of winning are estimated at one in nearly 176 million.”

Nu, so was the chance we Yidden would still survive as a nation today! May whoever win this money use it correctly and not waste it.

  4. #5, you are missing a lot. no pun intended. If you do that “investment”, what happens if other people win the same numbers and then it gets split between multiple people, thereby lowering the cash prize to each recipient. You will just end up losing. Plus, you will need to manually pick 176 million different combinations as the machine does it randomly

  5. I bought one ticket last week. My number wasn’t picked. I will not buy another ticket this year.

    It’s called Bitachon.

  6. Mr Albert Einstein it pays to buy one just for the imagination, you spend a dollar and can live in dreamland for a few days
