malaysia-planeThree months to the date after Malaysian Airlines flight MH370 disappeared, the families of the missing passengers launched a $5 million crowd-funding campaign to pay for a private investigation on Sunday. According to the Indiegogo campaign, they hope to spend $2 million on private investigators and $3 million on a reward for whistleblower information.

Sarah Bajc, whose partner was on the flight, said in a statement “Governments and agencies have given it their best shot but have failed to turn up a single shred of evidence, either because of a faulty approach or due to intentional misdirection by one or more individuals.”

Family and loved ones of the missing passengers have been frustrated by the lack of progress and clues. Some have accused authorities of covering up information.

Ethan Hunt, a technology company chief leading the campaign, said “We are convinced that somewhere, someone knows something, and we hope this reward will entice him or her to come forward.” Read more at Telegraph.
