Obama: 50/50 Chances for Iran Deal

obama1President Barack Obama said today that he believes the chances of arriving at a comprehensive nuclear deal with Iran are 50/50 or worse, even as he reiterated that diplomacy is the best way to stop Iran from acquiring atomic weapons.

“If you ask me what is the likelihood that we’re able to arrive at the end state…I wouldn’t say that it’s more than 50/50,” he said. “But we have to try.”

Last month, the Obama administration approved a six-month interim agreement with Tehran that some criticized as easing too much economic pressure in return for too few Iranian concessions. Read more at Businessweek.
