In a statement to Politico, Kentucky senator Rand Paul vowed to “force” the expiration of the Patriot Act on Sunday. “So tomorrow, I will force the expiration of the NSA illegal spy program,” Paul said. “I am ready and willing to start the debate on how we fight terrorism without giving up our liberty.”
He also said he will refuse to let Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell expedite debate on the USA Freedom Act, which passed the House earlier this month, and will not allow any extensions of the current law to pass. Read more at Politico.
