Pelosi: Impeaching Trump ‘not Some Place I Think We Should Go’

US House Democratic Leader Nancy Pelosi of California holds a press conference on Capitol Hill in Washington, DC, December 17, 2015. US lawmakers have announced the creation of a group to promote US interests as newly restored US-Cuba relations evolve. Twelve lawmakers from both parties did so in a letter to House Speaker Paul Ryan and House Democratic leader Nancy Pelosi. The Cuba Working Group in the House of Representatives is to be formally created on December 17, 2015. It will push to "advance policy proposals that are in our national interest in an era in which the US-Cuba relationship is rapidly being reshaped," the letter said. House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi (D-Claif.) on Sunday said impeaching President Trump would not be a priority for Democrats if they win control of the House in the midterm elections, despite calls from some of the party’s members and voters to do so.

“It’s not some place I think we should go,” Pelosi told CNN’s Jake Tapper on “State of the Union.” “Our election is about meeting the needs of the American people, stopping this tax bill right now, which is an insult to the intelligence of the American people and an assault on their financial security. That’s what we should be talking about.” Read more at The Hill.
