PFLP Plot to Kidnap IDF Soldiers to Use as “Bargaining Chips” Revealed

idfThe Israel Security Agency, the Shin Bet, has revealed a plot by a terrorist cell of the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine (PFLP) to kidnap IDF soldiers. The soldiers were reportedly to be used as bargaining chips in prisoner exchanges.

In 2011 alone, the IDF registered around 20 abduction attempts of soldiers serving in Yehudah and Shomron, which led to the launch of a nationwide campaign against hitch-hiking under the slogan: “Don’t catch a ride. The ride might catch you.” Read more at  Haaretz.
