Eli Yishai of Shas delivered divrei zikaron. “Every moment we miss the rav,” he said. “Every day we miss him. Am Yisroel misses him. The void he has left is huge…”
“There are no words to describe the rabbi’s absence, there are no words to describe the lack of understanding and the lack of leadership for the path [ahead],” Yishai said.
Other drashos were delivered by Rav Shalom Cohen, rosh yeshivat Porat Yosef; Rav Yitzchak Yosef, son and Sefardic chief rabbi; Rav Yitzchok Dovid Grossman, rov, Migdal Ha’emek; Rav Yehuda Deri, rov, Be’er Sheva; Rav Osher Weiss, rosh yeshiva, Darchei Horaah; Rav Shimon Badani; Rav Meir Mazuz, rosh yeshivat Kisei Rachamim; Rav Shlomo Tewil of Mexico; Rav Dovid Cohen, rosh yeshiva of Chevron; Rav Baruch Abuchatzeira and Rav Yitzchak Cohen
Rav Yitzchak Yosef spoke of his father’s hasmadah and gadlus in Torah, describing how at every opportunity, even when he was in hospital, he was immersed in Torah learning.
He asked the tzibbur to continue his father’s legacy by dedicating more time to limud haTorah
