Pozna Shul Opens in Flatbush

avrohom-eisen-pozna-rovBrooklyn – The Pozna Shul, Bais Medrash Levush Ha’orah, recently opened on Avenue M, between Ocean Avenue and East 21st Street, in Flatbush.

The rov of the shul, Rav Avrohom Eisen, has a sterling reputation on many levels. He is acclaimed for his success in establishing Kollel Shas Yidden in Beit Shemesh, where each avreich completes eight blatt a day and the entire Shas in a year, with monthly exams on 225 blatt.

Rav Eisen is a direct descendant of the Levush, Rav Mordechai Yoffe (1530-1612). He is a son of Rav Yaakov Eisen of Montreal and descends from a well-known family of rabbanim and dayanim. In Yerushalayim, the Eisen name is linked to the yishuv, where his grandfather, Rav Shalom Eisen zt”l, was a respected posek and talmid chochom.

A talented talmid chochom who has devoted himself to supporting many Torah institutions worldwide and is involved in the Oz Vehadar Torah project in the United States, Rav Eisen’s divrei Torah and shiurim will enrich local residents.

In an area replete with wonderful botei medrash and botei knesses, the Pozna Shul is another addition to the ever-expanding Flatbush community.

  1. As a local resident, I wish them much Bracha VeHatzlacha! Is that the Shul at the corner?

  2. Rav Eisen was also chairman of the Boro Park Breakfast on behalf of Lev L’Achim a few years ago. The Rav has seen first hand what Lev L’Achim is doing in Eretz Yisroel and is a leading backer in the Chasidishe world of this amazing avodas hakodesh.

May the Pozna Kehila shine with the light of Torah, Avodah & Gemilus Chasadim which their new Rav personifies! Mazal Tov.
