Rav Chaim Ginsburg to Assume Position in Ponovezh Yeshiva

rav-chaim-ginsburgRav Chaim Ginsburg, senior longtime rosh chaburah at Beth Medrash Govoah in Lakewood, NJ, has accepted a trial position at the Ponovezh Yeshiva led by Rav Shmuel Markowitz in Bnei Brak. Rav Chaim has been a fixture at BMG for decades, having served as a rosh chaburah, baal kriah and baal tefillah, during his tenure.

Rav Chaim is a son of Rav Efraim Mordechai Ginsburg, rosh yeshiva at the Mirrer Yeshiva in Brooklyn, NY. Rav Chaim’s mother, Rebbetzin Zlata Ginzburg, was a daughter of Rav Chatzkel Levenstein, renowned mashgiach of Mir and Ponovezh.

With the blessing of the posek hador, Rav Yosef Shalom Elyashiv, Rav Ginsburg, who is the mechaber of a number of well-received seforim, including writings on Seder Kodshim, will assume his new position as soon as this month.

for those who dont know. rav chaim is not taking a position in the original ponovez yeshiva led by rav kahanaman, rav edelstein, rav povarski rab leibowitz. rather in the break off led by rav markowitz.

“senior longtime Rosh Chabura” does that mean that he has been senior for a long time? or that he is both senior and longtime?
