Rebbetzin Miriam Libby Weiss a”h

It is with great sadness that reports the passing of Rebbetzin Miriam Libby Weiss a”h of Staten Island, NY.

Rebbetzin Weiss was the wife of Rav Moshe Meir Weiss, beloved rov of Agudas Yisroel of Staten Island, noted marbitz Torah, author, speaker and maggid shiur.

Rebbetzin Weiss was a genuine tzadeikes who guided and inspired people for decades, both via the spoken word and with her personal example of avodas Hashem, emunah, and unceasing kindness.

The levayah will take place tomorrow morning, Sunday, at 11 a.m., at Young Israel of Staten Island, located at 835 Forest Hill Road in Staten Island.

Yehi zichrah boruch.

  1. An amazing selfless role model. Only looking out for others. She was unique in every way always finding ways to do chessed and bring joy to others. She was a mekadesh Shem shomayim even as she suffered so terribly. She pushed others to find ways to do chessed and not to care what others would say when it came to helping another yid. She supported and stood behind her husband like a ready soldier making sure he had whatever he needed to be able to serve the klal as he continues to do so. She will be sorely missed.

  2. RebMoshe Sherer zl once called the Weiss residence. One of the children answered and assumed he wanted to speak to the Rov. He said no. He wants to speak to the Rebetzin a”h. He asked, “is it true that your husband travels every night to BP to give shiur?” Yes, she replied. And he doesn’t get home until close to midnight?” Yes, that is true. ” Well I wanted to call to say thank you on behalf of Klal Yisroel for giving us your husband at great sacrifice to your family. We are indebted to you.

The quote may not be precise but the sentiments certainly are. Such a beautiful thing Rabbi Sherer did. What a shevach on a Isha tzidkonis a”h. Yehi zichra boruch.
