Rep. Scalise In Fair Condition After Follow-Up Surgery Related To Gunshot

House Majority Whip Steve Scalise, R-La., remained at a Washington hospital Thursday in fair condition after undergoing surgery related to the gunshot wound he suffered in June.

The Wednesday procedure was described as a “planned follow-up” to the series of surgeries Scalise underwent after the June 22 shooting, according to a statement from MedStar Washington Hospital Center. “He is likely to remain in the hospital for several days and will then continue his recovery at home,” the statement said.
