All of Klal Yisroel is asked to say Tehillim for the Vizhnitzer Rebbe of Bnei Brak, Rav Moshe Yehoshua Hager, whose condition at Tel Hashomer Hospital has been deemed critical. The Rebbe has dealt with various ailments in recent years, and now tests show a deterioration in his condition. The Rebbe is 94.
The families of the Rebbe’s two sons, Rav Yisroel and Rav Mendel, and two of his daughters, Rebbetzin Ernster and the Belzer Rebbetzin, have been at the hospital to be near the Rebbe.
The Vizhnitzer Rebbe of Bnei Brak, who is the nosi of the Moetzes Gedolei Hatorah in Eretz Yisroel, heads one of the most illustrious Chassidic families in the world. In addition to leading a large chassidus of his own, his children are some of most prominent admorim in the world. The Rebbe has two sons and four daughters. His oldest son is Rav Yisroel, who has been leading the Vizhnitzer kehillah in recent years when his father has been unwell. Rav Menachem Mendel, the Rebbe’s second son, is named after the founding Vizhnitzer Rebbe, author of Tzemach Tzaddik. He serves as av bais din of the Vizhnitzer kehillah in Bnei Brak.
The Rebbe’s sons-in-law are the Skverer Rebbe, Rav Dovid Twersky, of Shikun Skver; the Belzer Rebbe, Rav Yissochor Dov Rokeach, of Yerushalayim; Rav Aharon Teitelbaum of Satmar of Kiryas Yoel; and Rav Menachem Ernster, rosh yeshiva of the Vizhnitzer Yeshiva in Bnei Brak. The Rebbe’s brother, Rav Mordechai Hager, is the Vizhnitzer Rebbe of Monsey.

May the Rebbe have a Refuah Sheleima and lead us towards Moshiach Bimheira
If you’re Ashkenazi then the Rebbe’s name is Margalis with a “suf” at the end
BT
a sweet and loving Rebbe. Refuah shleima.
Elazar – Your’e right, but for some reason even alot of vizhntzer chasiddim say it as “margaliT” when davening.
a gevaldiga masmid & devoted leader to all jews
may he have a refue shlemai
do teshuva NOW & NOT WAIT
Refuah Shleimah to the Vizhnitzer Rebbe, Rabbi Hager!
#2- are you implying that if an Ashkenazi would say margalit that the teffila would not be effective?
#8 Depends on how he was taught to pronounce a “taf” or a “saf”.
Though on a lighter note, I imagine that Hashem knows who you mean no matter how you pronounce the name.
and #4
That’s a first for me.
The Monsey Chassidim say that the Rebbe’s mother’s name is “Margulya” and not Margalis. But I’ve never heard the “Margalit” variety from a Vizhnitzer chasid.
May the Rebbe Shlit”a have a refuah sheleimah beguf u’vnefesh and lead us towards Mashiach.
An unbelievable masmid and talmid chacham. He knew the whole Ketsos, Taz, Shach, and Minchas Chinuch ba’al peh!!! And his unbelievable love and closenesss he had to every student of his. Hashem should have mercy on the whole world and let him continue living to take us out to greet mashiach soon Amein.
Rebbe is in his home in stable condition. A few visitors were even allowed in yesterday.
His son Reb Yisrael who returned from his vacation spot in Europe when the Rebbe was deemed to be in critical condition, has returned to Europe.
