On Sunday, 32,000 cyclists will participate in the TD Five Boro Bike Tour, a 40-mile, traffic-free course through all five boroughs that will finish on Staten Island in the shadow of the Verrazano-Narrows Bridge.
The event kicks off at 7:30 a.m. in lower Manhattan.
There will be a partial closure of the Verrazano-Narrows Bridge Sunday to accommodate the event. Motorists are advised by the MTA to expect delays.
The Staten Island-bound lower level will be closed from 12:01 a.m. until 6 p.m. Sunday. Additionally, one Brooklyn-bound lane on the lower level will be closed from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m.
Other closings include the BQE approach (I-278 West) to the Verrazano-Narrows Bridge, and the Belt Parkway entrance ramp to the Staten Island-bound lower level. Read more.
