Trump: Recognizing Yerushalayim as Israel’s Capital Was Pinnacle of My First Year

Reflecting on his first year in office in a recent interview with the Israeli daily newspaper Israel Hayom, President Donald Trump said that his official recognition of Yerushalayim as the capital of Israel was the pinnacle of his presidency so far.

“I think that Jerusalem was my high point,” Trump told Boaz Bismuth, Israel Hayom’s editor-in-chief. “It was very significant that I recognized Jerusalem as your wonderful capital city. This was an extremely important decision for many people, who thanked me. To be completely honest, there were others who did not thank me. But it was an extremely important promise that I promised—and fulfilled.”

Trump stated that while he knew he would go forward with recognizing Jerusalem as Israel’s capital during his first year as president, he also understood why previous presidents had not.

“Incredible pressure was imposed on them not to do it,” Trump said. “All the other presidents failed to keep their promise, despite the fact that they promised it during the course of their election campaigns. But I understand, because the effort to prevent them to do it was enormous.”

  1. But where is the US Embassy promised??? Any one can say Jerusalem is the capital of Israel but putting the Embassy of the US there then that is the action part of the declaration. All one has to do is reverse the buildings the Embassy becomes the consulate in Tel Aviv and the consulate in Jerusalem becomes the Embassy and that would be the action.
This can happen instantly without fan fare, for both buildings have computers and they both have the same information so not too much has to be moved. Or this declaration was only tongue and cheek.????

  2. Trump is the most intelligent. I think he can change the roses in the Rose Garden to pink too. He has that bump of good.

Really, the experimental idea of changing the location of our embassy is interesting. Costly too but who knows. Maybe King David himself would forfeit land in Jerusalem for the greatness of such a president. He does have more gold than Solomon has bright day.

So in all, interesting move. Keep the Rose Garden for now Trump. Someone else expects it to be theirs soon and we just hope it does not change your day. Black roses not needed.
