Yerushalayim’s Gazelle Park To Be Closed On Shabbos

The Yerushalayim municipality recently stipulated that the Society for the Protection of Nature which won the tender to operate Yerushalayim’s new Gazelle Valley Park is to observe hilchos Shabbos in the park’s precincts.

Gazelle Valley, Israel’s first urban nature reserve, is named for an herd of about fifteen gazelles that live in the park’s urban bounded area, which was saved from development by the Society for the Protection of Nature and local activists after lengthy court battles.
