A 14-year-old girl was seriously injured Friday morning in Bnei Brak after her hand became caught in a kitchen mixer while preparing Shabbos challos. Several of her fingers were severed in the accident, and she was rushed to the hospital, where doctors are attempting to save them.
The accident occurred at the family’s home on Ginot David Street as the teenager was kneading dough for Shabbos challos. According to initial reports, she accidentally placed her hand into the operating mixer, resulting in the traumatic amputation of several fingers.
United Hatzalah emergency responders arrived quickly at the scene and immediately began administering first aid, controlling the bleeding and bandaging her injuries before transporting her for emergency medical treatment.
Hili Miller and Yanky Deitch, medics with United Hatzalah’s Koach Hatzalah unit who treated the girl, said, “We were told that the girl accidentally placed her hand into the mixer while kneading dough for Shabbos challos. We provided emergency medical treatment, including stopping the bleeding and bandaging her wounds. She was then transported by United Hatzalah ambulance to Sheba Medical Center at Tel Hashomer, where doctors will attempt to save her fingers.”
The teenager was taken to Sheba Medical Center at Tel Hashomer, where medical teams are working in an effort to reattach and save her injured fingers.
