150,000 Shekels For Lechem Haponim Plate

Among bequests handled by Israel’s Justice Ministry, which distributes bequests left by people for the state, was an allotment of 150,000 shekel to the Mechon Hamikdash which constructs various keilim for the future Bais Hamikdash. By request of the deceased, the money was to be used to “prepare a silver [and] gold plated platter for the lechem haponim of the Bais Hamikdash.

In 2015, the committee allotted 9.4 million shekels to education with 61% of the money going to religious and chareidi institutions, including yeshivos and Talmudei Torah. The Calcalist magazine reported that of 245 million shekels distributed in 2013-2015, 4% (10 million shekels) was used for religious purposes with 98% of the amount distributed in 2015 (3.4 million shekels) going to Orthodox institutions.
