ShopRite announced it will begin distributing coronavirus vaccines to eligible recipients at 39 of its New Jersey grocery stores with pharmacies.

The grocery market chain said its pharmacies will start by vaccinating healthcare professionals included in the first distribution phase, focusing on those individuals at highest risk of exposure. The company expects to expand access to the general public as additional groups become eligible.

“We are excited to be part of the initial stages of this unprecedented public health campaign as we begin vaccinating healthcare workers who are on the front lines in the COVID-19 pandemic,” said Jeffrey Mondelli, vice president of Pharmacy, Health & Beauty at Wakefern Food Corp., the logistics, distribution and merchandising arm for ShopRite stores, in a news release.

The store locations were chosen in coordination with the New Jersey Department of Health, which added the ShopRite locations to the state’s full list of distribution sites.

  1. Perfect timing. Shoprite is middle of their can can sale. Yup, just got 10 cans of Bumble bee solid white tuna fish for $8.40. Less than a buck a can.
