Rav Tzvi Meir Zilberberg, one of the renowned mashpiim of Eretz Yisroel, is currently in Telz Stone, where he is spending time with members of his kehillah, Nachlas Yaakov.
Those who are participating have agreed to a condition: they will spend 18 hours engaged in learning and tefillah with a taanis dibbur.
Each year, a growing number of avreichim leave their families for a short period of time to prepare for the month of Elul by engaging in Torah and tefillah in presence of Rav Zilberberg.
Such is the “vacation” for these bnei aliyah.
Meanwhile, a new yeshiva, Ahavas Hatorah, under Rav Zilberberg’s stewardship, will be opening this Sunday. The yeshiva will be located on Rechov Techeiles Mordechai in the Ganie Geulah neighborhood of Yerushalayim.

What’s the point?
Its a bigger nisayon to be learning 18hrs and being able to curtail ‘shimeras haloshen’.
May we all be zoche b’din this Elul and Tishrei
How I miss that yid – he is a real tzaddik – BH we have such a tzaddik in our generation!
I am inspired by this to learn an house each day during Elyl.
Thank you
“Whats the point?”
Are you kidding? Whats the point?
? The point is that this is a huge kiddush hashem, an insight into the lives of true b’nei aliya. How many can do this over Yom Kippur, let alone bein hazmanim! May this serve as an inspiration for many others to mimic, atleast each one of us on our own level. Ashraichecm!
This is amazing!
kol hakavod!
what a priceless & powerful way to go into & prepare for elul.
May this bring them closer to Hashem & save them from any sinning( now that they have separated from the world & sealed their mouths)
may it help them in their shalom bayis from silence as aron hakohen was silent when he lost 2 of his children & accepted the decree with love through his full bitachon in hashem
may all of klal yisroel-each person personally- accept his story & situation with love from the king of kings HASHEM, for then he has aquired happiness with nothing to bring him to sadness no matter what happens
Jewish Pride
Time: First do the 18 hours, then comment
Ashreichem!!!!

Oh how I miss Rav Tzi Meir. I davened by him on Shabbos for over two years b’kviyus. Nothing like a 5 1/2 hour davening on a Shabbos morning, plus learning for several hours before shachris even starts. I miss Eretz Yisroel… some day I’ll be back.
The shaiyla is: what about leaving the wife & kids? This is the only chance they have, to spend time with their mishpacha. The wife & kids NEED the attention of the Husband/Father. Once the new Zman starts, they won’t have the chance. Not so pashut. One must ask a Rav first.

Relax, it’s only for a few days.
When fathers have to go on business trips, no one asks those kinds of questions. Why when it comes to a few days of pure ruchniyus – which is at least as beneficial to the family as a business trip, if not more – do people all of the sudden say, hey, how can you leave your wife and kids?
If Elul is preperation for the Yamim Noraim, and these days are used to prepare for Elul, what did they do last week to prepare for preparing for Elul?
#14: They went to the Siyum Hashas!
