Rav Dovid Cohen: No Registration for Mesivtos Before Lag Ba’omer

On the order of the Rosh Yeshiva Rav Gershon Edelstein, Tuesday morning, a decisive and clear letter from the Rosh Yeshiva of Chevron, Rav Dovid Cohen, a member of the Moetzet Chachmaei Hatorah, was released on the subject of registration for mesivtos.

Because of competition between yeshivos and other factors, Rav Cohen instructed that all registration will be done only after Lag Ba’Omer.

“There is no permit to break [the rule],” writes Rav Cohen.

Leaders of mesivtos approached Rav Gershon, explaining that it would destroy the studies of the chadorim if there was early registration. Because of this, Rav Gershon ordered Rav Cohen to write things clearly in a letter.
