A salmonella outbreak that health officials say appears to be from raw tuna has left 53 people sick in nine states. The California Department of Public Health announced 31 cases on Thursday, while Mississippi, Arizona, New Mexico, Illinois, South Dakota, Virginia, Washington state, and Wisconsin also reported cases.
No deaths have been reported, but 10 people have been hospitalized.
Health officials are investigating the source of the outbreak, but found that most affected people reported eating sushi containing raw tuna. Read more.
