A 63-year old Rockland woman was rescued today from Kakiat Park near Monsey. A CommSAR (Community Search and Rescue) member was hiking up the steep Orange Trail and came upon the woman and her husband as the woman fell and was unable to continue.
CommSAR responded to the scene together with the Rockland County Sherriff’s department.
A CommSAR EMT assessed her situation and decided that she should be carried out and not allowed to walk further.
Chaverim Of Rockland was having a training session in Kakiat Park and teams from both Chaverim and CommSAR did the carry-out together.
The woman was evaluated at the scene by Hatzoloh Of Rockland and transported to Good Samaritan Hospital.
