On Thursday, October 20th and Friday, October 21st, over 2,500 hundred people enjoyed the day at AMF Pikesville Lanes with two free games of bowling, free shoes, free hot food (in sukkahs set up specially for the event). There was also free entertainment including magic shows, balloon art, face paint, fun games, raffles, prizes and even free family portraits. Baltimore’s own Orioles bird made appearances on both days as well.

The community achdus and simcha was felt by all who attended. The event’s huge success was evident in the hundreds of children’s smiles and happy faces. Chesed Fund & Project Ezra’s director, Frank Storch, arranged the event so that the community could enjoy Chol Hamoed without an increase to Yom Tov expenses. He also wanted to draw attention to AMF Pikesville Lanes, which is located near the Jewish community and is a great family-oriented and fun venue. The Chesed Fund & Project Ezra hope to run similar safe and fun events in the future.

Community members expressed overwhelming appreciation for the fun, entertaining, and completely free event. Some thank you emails received read, “Our family enjoyed ourselves tremendously…From the face-painting to the delicious food, our kids had a blast! What a beautiful way to spend time together as a family in a nice atmosphere on Chol Hamoed!…It is a gift you have given us…”

“Our family had a wonderful time!…There were so many activities that went beyond bowling…It kept everyone busy especially those families that were waiting for a bowling lane…”

“(The event)…was arranged to perfection…”
