A Rediscovered Tzion: One Of The Baal Shem Tov’s Foremost Talmidim

A visitor’s center and hachnossas orchim are planned for the newly-discovered kever of Rav Shabse of Rashkov, one of the Baal Shem Tov’s foremost talmidim. Rav Shabse is renowned for his famous Siddur, the first to include the kavanos and minhagim of the Baal Shem Tov.

Due to the proximity of the cemetery to an army base, the kever’s location was inaccessible until Moldovan Chief Rabbi Pinchos Zaltzman asked for special permission to clean and explore the site.
