We hope that each one of you came through these difficult times with a minimal of disruption to your lives. For some of us we will remember this time for the loss of those we loved & admired, others will cherish the quiet stint we spent at home, and the delicious meals that we prepared with love in our own kitchens.

For us at Abigael’s on Broadway, we stressed when the COVID 19 Pandemic hit New York City. We worried for the safety of our employees & their families. Therefore, we were one of the first restaurants that opted to close up shop for the duration of the outbreak, with big plans for opening again as soon as possible.

Unfortunately, COVID 19 has taken a toll on the restaurant industry, too. Sadly, we have made the difficult decision to not re-open Abigael’s as a dine-in restaurant. For nearly 25 years we have been one of the original fine dining kosher restaurants in NYC. This was the final year on our lease and our partner of 35 years is ready to retire. With all these lost months, it is no longer practical for us to continue with the grand plans we had.

Abigael’s will continue to provide our Supplemental Meals Program from our commissary to hotels, restaurants, catering halls and offices, just as we have for the past few decades, with new menus and delivery options. We will still be at Madison Square Garden with our Abigael’s, by Jeff Nathan concession, once they are allowed to re-open.

It is with heartfelt thanks that we offer to you our sincerest appreciation for all the years of love and special occasions that you’ve shared with us. Some of our proudest moments were when we made your first date, your proposal, your wedding, Sheva Brachot, B’nai Mitzvot, fashion show, business meeting, anniversary, graduation, holiday celebration, special occasion & night on the town something memorable for each and every one of the guests. We hope you’ll share your stories and photos of some of these milestones.

We wish you all brighter days and finer meals in the world to come, even if you make them yourselves! Many thanks for being part of the hundreds of thousands of Abigael’s customers over the last 25 years. We are proud to have served you!

  1. They didn’t implement shmattah bedikah for checking vegetables. Standards were lacking. No fault of the owner. Totally the fault of the Kof K.
