An Amazon Boeing 767 cargo jet crashed onto a roadway outside Miami International Airport on Sunday, with dramatic video showing the aircraft surrounded by thick black smoke and flames.
Footage obtained by NBC 6 showed the massive cargo plane sitting at an angle across the road as dark plumes of smoke poured from the crash site.
The aircraft had been traveling from San Juan, Puerto Rico, to Miami when the incident occurred.
Video from the scene also showed flames burning along a portion of the fuselage as cars and tractor-trailers stopped nearby.
“Oh my God!” people could be heard exclaiming in the background as they watched the wreckage burn.
Despite the fire and smoke surrounding the aircraft, much of the plane appeared to have remained intact after coming to rest on the roadway.
Authorities had not immediately disclosed what caused the crash, and the full circumstances surrounding the incident remained unclear.
