[Audio below.] In honor of Rav Mordechai Gifter’s yahrtzeit tomorrow, we present one of his classic drashos, titled “Diversity in Orthodoxy.” Noteworthy is Rav Gifter’s uplifting words of admiration for the Rabbon Shel Kol Bnei Hagolah, Maran Rav Elazar Shach zt”l, the greatest oheiv Yisroel of his generation – “the head of the fanatics,” as Rav Gifter says.

thanks alot !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
great drosho from our beloved Rosh Hayeshive
this is the stuff Matzav should repeat constantly!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
The best!!!
I remember this shiur well, having listened to it numerous times back when I was in yeshiva. Also worth noting is when he discussed mesiras nefesh for learning. Nowadays people are spoiled! He speaks about how he was considered rich because he could afford to drink actual coffee, instead of chicory! Imagine a yeshiva today where the people couldn’t afford coffee! Where one hard boiled egg to eat was considered a luxury! We forgot what real mesiras nefesh for learning is.
When was this drashah given? What year?
Must be 1990 because he says Telz is one year from its fiftieth anniversary in Cleveland, and Telz started in Cleveland in 1941.
Oey, how I miss my Rebbe!
Yasher Koach.
Ohy do we miss his articulate, passinate drashos! There was no one and still is no one like him. ??? ???? ????
This Drasha of almost an hour has not one ‘Dvar Torah’ yet it is packed with Musser, Ahavas HaTorah and so much Hadracha.
Does anyone know where i can get more of these
shiurim of Rav Gifter ZTZ’l from?
I’m not a Telzer but this shmuze is mamesh hafleh vifeleh! I told myself I would listen to the first few minutes of the Drasha but I became so mesmerized that I listened to the entire drasha. The Rosh Yeshiva ZT”L was so articulate. We are takah so veit from Torah that was learnt in Europe of amol. His holy neshama should have an Aliyah.
Classic Rosh Hayeshiva !! As others are saying you need to post more of these. There are some other classics we heard over the years (“Zionism”, “Centrist Orthodoxy” etc etc.
