  1. Just heard this pshat from my Brother Rabbi Elozor Bald shlita, Menahel of Irgun Sheurei Torah.
the following is a very short version of his vort.
“Leich na r’ei es shloim achecha” Yaakov Avinu sent Yosef not to help or save them. Because what can one possibly do, that ten of them can’t. Nor did he follow them to provide his Father with an update of their whereabouts etc. because everyday a different brother had a daily shift attending their Father. Rather, Yakov Avinu is telling Yosef go ahead and invest much effort in training yourself how to see “es shloim achecha” the good in your brother.

A case in point is the story with the Husatin’er Rebbe, Reb Yisroel, of the Rizhiner dynesty.
How’s my enemy feeling about me today…. asked the Rebbe of his gabai to inquire. Explaining, I worked on my ahavas yisrael to love my enemy so that it should be k’mayim panim el panim… The same is true of Yakov Avinu with regards to Yosef. He instructed him to think positive of yenem so that they find it in their hearts to reciprocate mutual feelings towards him.
