According to Channel 13 News, Finance Minister Bezalel Smotrich and National Security Minister Itamar Ben Gvir have reportedly expressed their intent to resign from the government if convicted terrorists are released from Israeli prisons. These statements were made in private discussions.

This revelation comes as an Israeli delegation, led by Mossad chief David Barnea, has departed for Qatar to engage in negotiations concerning a potential hostage release agreement.

The Political-Security Cabinet greenlit the Israeli delegation’s journey to Doha during a session on Sunday night.

During this session, the Cabinet provided the Israeli delegation with a broad mandate, empowering Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Defense Minister Yoav Gallant to delve into tactical intricacies during the negotiations.

A report by the Lebanese Al-Akhbar newspaper suggested that the proposed deal’s initial phase would entail a 42-day ceasefire, which could transition into a permanent arrangement in the subsequent phase.

Hamas has stipulated several conditions for the first phase, including the return of displaced Gazans to the northern Gaza Strip, facilitation of aid delivery to the region, and ensuring freedom of movement.

Furthermore, Hamas has demanded the release of 50 prisoners, 30 of whom are serving life sentences, in exchange for each Israeli woman, child, elderly individual, and sick person held captive.

Hamas’s demands for the second phase include the establishment of a permanent ceasefire prior to any prisoner exchange involving male soldiers currently in captivity. Additionally, in the third phase, the terror group seeks comprehensive reconstruction efforts for the entire Gaza Strip.

  1. You lost your credibility when you didn’t stand by your threats to quit the government if Netanyahu decided to freeze the judicial reform.

  2. This sounds pretty unlikely seeing as they would get crushed in new elections and I don’t think they want the left running the country
