President Joe Biden tried to maintain bipartisan momentum for a new infrastructure program by meeting Thursday with Republican and Democratic lawmakers at the White House.
The meeting was about “what we’re gonna do to make sure we once again lead the world across the board on infrastructure,” Biden said. “It not only creates jobs, but it makes us a helluva lot more competitive around the world if we have the best infrastructure.”
Spending on infrastructure appears to be the next major priority for the Biden administration after its $1.9 trillion coronavirus relief package clears the Senate, likely along hardened partisan lines. The prospect of funding roads, bridges, ports, broadband and other infrastructure is a chance for Biden to rebuild his relationship with Republicans. It also allows him notch a policy achievement that evaded both the Obama and Trump administrations.
Biden met Thursday with eight members of the House Committee on Transportation and Infrastructure, a follow-up to a Feb. 11 meeting with senators on infrastructure.

Infrastructure is the type of thing all politicians claim to be working on. Who is against better infrastructure?
In the real world it doesn’t work that way (remember Obama and his “shovel ready jobs” infrastructure promise?)
If you don’t have a CLEAR plan of what you will build, who will build it , how much is the exact cost, etc. BEFORE you allocate trillions of dollars to infrastructure, the money just ends being wasted, the projects don’t get done, the costs always exceed expectations etc.
You would think that as Obama’s VP he would have learned his lesson about this type of promise.
Even the liberal and pro Obama publications admit that the $800 Billion dollars Obama blew on infrastructure stimulus for the most part went nowhere
Only someone who still believe that a clone is President can post this. FYI Biden has 0% power and is not in control of anything. The media installed while President Trump stepped out for a few weeks while the military took over. If you don’t believe me, look at the White House. It’s closed and dark and there’s nobody there. Which is why the Congress has not been in session since Jan. 2021.
