President Biden made a statement on Monday asserting that he had been present at the World Trade Center site in New York City just one day following the 9/11 attacks, contradicting his own autobiographical account, which places him in Washington, D.C.

In his address, the 80-year-old president mentioned that he witnessed the devastation at Ground Zero in New York on the day after the attacks, expressing the profound impact it had on him. He also mentioned his presence at Shanksville, Pennsylvania, and the Pentagon in Virginia during previous 9/11 commemorations.

Subsequently, President Biden claimed to have personally witnessed the immediate aftermath of American Airlines Flight 77 striking the Pentagon, recalling a “plume of fire” he allegedly saw when disembarking from an Amtrak train on his way to the United States Senate. However, his 2007 autobiography, “Promises to Keep,” offers a different account of his actions on 9/11 and the following day, mentioning his arrival in Washington after the Pentagon incident but failing to describe a visit to Ground Zero or other specific events from that time.

Despite reports indicating that Senator Biden spent the day after the attacks in the U.S. Senate, the president’s recent statement has drawn attention due to his history of making embellished claims, particularly in personal anecdotes and biographical details. These recent misstatements have raised concerns, especially as polls indicate that a majority of voters believe he is too old for a second term.

President Biden has a recurring tendency to exaggerate details when attempting to connect with his audiences. For instance, he recently mentioned a small kitchen fire at his Delaware residence, claiming it almost caused the house to collapse, despite this event being relatively minor. Similar instances include inaccurate claims about his involvement in civil rights protests, visits to locations during pivotal events, and past job offers.

These recurring issues with factual accuracy, combined with concerns about his mental sharpness, have prompted public scrutiny and cast a shadow over his candidacy for the upcoming election. Recent polls have indicated that a significant portion of voters doubt his mental fitness for the role of president, which has become a subject of debate in political circles.

In addition to the questions surrounding his mental acuity, President Biden’s history includes gaffes and false statements, dating back to his first presidential campaign in 1987, which was marred by a plagiarism scandal involving his speeches and a law school paper. Notably, he also appropriated aspects of British politician Neil Kinnock’s family history, misrepresenting his own background in speeches.

Furthermore, Biden made various inaccurate claims about his academic achievements, including assertions of multiple degrees, top-class rankings, and full scholarships that were later found to be untrue.

In contrast, former President George W. Bush’s actions in the aftermath of the 9/11 attacks were characterized by his iconic visit to Ground Zero, where he addressed workers with a memorable statement of unity and resolve.

  1. look up the story: “Jill Biden’s ex: Joe stole my prep school football story as his own — minutes after I told it”

Bill Stevenson who was married to Jill (obviously before they divorced) met Joe Biden for the first time. They talked, Biden asked about something written on a wall (in Bill’s bar/restaurant). Bill related the anecdote. A short time later while still at Bill Stevenson’s establishment Joseph Biden told the same story with himself as the protagonist.
