Biden: ‘I Think It’d Be Great To Have A Female VP’

Democratic frontrunner and former Vice President Joe Biden did not shut the door on the idea of having a woman as his 2020 running mate in an interview on Friday, saying it would be great to have a female vice president.

“I think it’d be great to have a female VP, and if I don’t win, I think it’d be great to have a female president,” Biden told CNN’s Chris Cuomo on Thursday.

Having a woman on the 2020 Democratic presidential ticket has been viewed as a priority for a number of Democratic presidential hopefuls, including Sen. Cory Booker (D-N.J.), who has vowed to pick a woman running mate if he wins the nomination.

  1. Nikki Haley is a woman I’d like to see as President someday. Not because she’s a woman, nor despite her being a woman, but because I think she’s an intelligent, knowledgeable, thoughtful person whose positions are sensible and align with my own.
Factoring someone’s gender and/or race – either as a positive or as a negative – into deciding who to select makes no sense, especially since that in effect means you’re also unfairly holding someone’s race/gender against them. Why not just select the person who can best do the job?

  2. The Democrat party is all about gender politics. It has nothing to do with what’s good and helpful for the Country.
