Fox News reports: The FBI is facing backlash on social media after an official said that the Texas synagogue hostage taker’s demands were “not specifically related to the Jewish community.”

“The FBI is now an organization solely focused on destroying the domestic enemies of the Democratic Party,” conservative talk radio show Jesse Kelly tweeted Sunday morning. “Any Republican Congress or Presidential candidate who doesn’t loudly proclaim his intention to massively reform or disband this organization should not be considered.”

Kelly’s tweet came in response to the Associated Press reporting that FBI officials said “the Texas synagogue hostage taker’s demands were specifically focused on issues not connected to the Jewish community.”

“We do believe from our engaging with this subject that he was singularly focused on one issue, and it was not specifically related to the Jewish community. But we’re continuing to work to find motive,” FBI Special Agent in Charge Matt DeSarno said at a press conference.

The hostage taker, who has been identified as British national Malik Faisal Akram, took four hostages at Congregation Beth Israel in Colleyville, near Fort Worth on Saturday, the Jewish Sabbath.  He allegedly demanded the release of a Pakistani woman who is imprisoned in Texas on charges of trying to kill American service members in Afghanistan.

The FBI and Justice Department previously described the woman, Aafia Siddiqui, as an “al-Qaida operative and facilitator” at a May 2004 news conference. She is serving an 86-year prison sentence after being convicted in 2010 on charges that she sought to shoot U.S. military members while in Afghanistan two year earlier.

She has a history of anti-Semitism, including demanding that jurors in her case be DNA tested and removed “if they have a Zionist or Israeli background.”

The suspected hostage taker died at the scene. The hostages were released without injury.

The FBI was ripped on social media for the statement that the hostage taker had no direct demands related to the Jewish community, including calling for the FBI to be “defunded and eliminated.”

The Department of Justice did not immediately respond to Fox News’ request for comment on the criticisms. Fox News

  1. I’m not sure I understand the controversy. The “demands” made by the terrorist were the release of another terrorist, who happens to be an antisemite. She is not in jail because of anti-semitism, but for national crimes. So where is the FBI’s statement incorrect?

Please understand that I’m no fan of the FBI, and I agree that they should be destroyed and restarted from scratch, but this story appears to be a non-issue…

  2. Not sure why they are so upset about this.

The report above indicates that the “hostage taker’s demands were “not specifically related to the Jewish community.””

    That is true.

Yes, obviously, he went to a synagogue. So, of course, it was an anti-Jewish attack. But none of that changes the above.

  3. This bum got his marching orders from Biden and Psaki. STICK TO THE NARRATIVE!!! WHITE supremacy is THEE greatest threat facing this Nation!!! This little incident with a Muslim going after Jews can’t get in the way of Bidens prepared hate speech for tommorow’s Martin Luther King day! It is supposed to be White man evil. All else is perfect. Jan 6 Jan 6 Jan 6 Jan 6. Georgia, with its 2 democrat Senators (one black) is evil and racist because they make black folks show ID! OMG, showing ID harkens back to the dark ages of slavery. So, in order to go to work or go to a restaurant one MUST show ID and vaccination, including blacks. We don’t trust you! You must show us your vaccination cards. But to go and vote, oh that’s okay. Just keep coming in. No ID necessary. That’s evil and racist. Vote early and often. Biden/Psaki are steaming mad that this Muslim is messing up their party.

  4. The people who are whining about this are not acting in accordance with Jewish principles of gratitude. The statement was entirely factual. We should be praising the FBI to the skies for killing the terrorist without harm to the Jewish hostages. And the next day the FBI put out another statement saying that they are investigating this as an anti-Semitic hate crime.

It is nonsense like this that gives anti-Semites legitimate complaints against us. Stop giving them such.

    • Why do you automatically assume that Mr. Akram was a “terrorist”? Do you have inside information? Did you know him personally? He was a disturbed deranged person. Is every homeless bum that throws a person onto the train tracks in NYC a terrorist? Is every person that holds up a store and murders innocent’s a terrorist? Mr. Akram should not of been murdered by the police. He was all alone when they barged into the building.
