Just months after promising New Yorkers that only death would stop him from serving his full term in Albany, Gov. Andrew Cuomo has reached out to key pols in Iowa — home to the first caucus of the 2020 Democratic presidential nominating campaign.
But a report Tuesday said Cuomo — along with a host of other 2020 Democratic wannabes — had contacted influential Democrats in Des Moines to express interest.
But the governor on Tuesday flatly denied that he had reached out to Iowa officials — and blamed “dark” forces for spreading a “conspiracy theory.”
“I don’t know where that story comes from. There is no truth to it. It’s a conspiracy theory.”
