An off-duty MTA conductor was slashed and a man was stabbed with an ice pick in a rash of recent violence in the subway system, according to cops and police sources.

The 52-year-old conductor was riding a northbound J train at the Crescent Street station in Cypress Hills around 11:20 p.m. Wednesday when a man passing through train cars attacked him with an orange box cutter without warning, according to cops and the sources.

He was stabbed in the left eye and ear, and slashed in the forehead, the sources said.

The victim was taken to Jamaica Hospital Medical Center, where he was scheduled for surgery, according to the sources.

About five minutes earlier, a 28-year-old man was stabbed with an ice pick on a northbound D train while heading home to the Bronx, police sources said.

  1. yeah, reopen broadway you foolish mayor (and clueless gov). Keep the crime going; the homeless in the subways; “that’s the ticket” to get tourists to this crumbling city. 30 million to bring tourists – another foolish waste of taxpayer money. No one is coming if you don’t stop crime! Doesn’t he get it??? I guess not. Has too many special interests to pander to. And you gov cuomo, repeal this disastrous bail law – that might help some. Now for some more practical ideas: 1) Re-fund the police; 2) Stop and frisk to get the guns off the streets; 3) Add more police especially in high crime neighborhoods (call Rudy Guiliani for some pointers) and triple the number of cops in the subways; 4) get the homeless off the subways and off the streets with those eyesore tents and put them into hospitals to be treated; and 5) clean the streets – biden gave the state plenty of bailout money. Maybe then you’ll get lucky and see some tourists coming back.
