14-year-old Esther Greenfeld used to be a normal, smiling girl; her Mother’s right hand, and affectionate older sister to 3 younger siblings.
A few months ago, she started screaming and crying from unexplained pain in her neck and shoulders. Baffled, her parents took her to the emergency ward, where it came to light that she has stage 4 bone cancer.
Esther has come face to face with a living nightmare.
At the moment, Esther is receiving radiation therapy in Hadassah Ein Kerem, but the Drs have advised that her best chance at survival is to receive a special life-saving treatment in Germany. It costs $105,000 and is not covered by the family’s insurance.
Having poured everything they have into her treatments so far, her parents have no way of coming up with this sum on their own.
