The suspect in the Forshay-Monsey stabbing last night has been identified as Grafton Thomas, a resident of Greenwood Lake, NY.
Thomas, who carried out his heinous attack with a machete, will be charged with five counts of attempted murder and one count of burglary, as per Ramapo Police Chief Brad Weidel.
Thomas is being detained in Ramapo and will be arraigned today.
Thomas launched his attack at the home of Rav Chaim Leibish Rottenberg, Kossoner Rebbe, on Forshay Road in Monday, wounding five people. One person was very seriously wounded during the attack and remains in critical condition.
There were at least 100 people in the Rottenberg home at the time, as Rav Rottenberg was lighting neiros Chanukah.
Thomas tried to run into the shul next door, but the doors were locked and he fled, with “blood all over him,” said a law enforcement source.
Thomas then drove his Nissan Sentra across the George Washington Bridge into New York City, where police identified him by his license plate at about 11:45 p.m. Police arrested Grafton without incident after midnight. Ramapo officers then picked him up and brought him to Monsey.
Authorities have not provided a motive for the attack.

If the government does not stop this ASAP, then the left could start doing this against the conservative right and start a war in all progressive cities. Look at the killing of R Kahane. If the government would have done it’s job, they would have caught the bombers of the world trade center.
The government needs to put in all necessary will and capital to stop this now. Else, we could face a fight from the left against conservative America using this idea.
