The nation’s leading infectious disease expert Dr. Anthony Fauci OK’d small, at-home New Year’s Eve gatherings among vaccinated and boosted individuals on Wednesday, but he urged Americans to cancel plans to attend larger parties as conditions become more grim amid the omicron variant, US News and World Report reports.

“If your plans are to go to a 40- to 50-person New Year’s Eve party with all the bells and whistles and everybody hugging and kissing and wishing each other a happy new year, I would strongly recommend that this year we do not do that,” Fauci said during the White House COVID-19 briefing Wednesday.

For smaller gatherings, Fauci warned that “although the risk is never zero in anything, the risk is low enough that we feel you should continue to go through with those plans of having a home-related vaccinated, boosted gathering with family and close friends who are also vaccinated and boosted.”

  1. Okay. Maybe hugging and kissing might be dangerous, but what about punching and kicking? What about beating the out of those who are wearing their stupid ugly dirty worthless disposable masks?

    • try it and people will knock your block off tough guy! I wear a mask and if somebody came swinging they should expect swinging back.you think your the only person brought up in new york?

  2. What’s his business? If I want to hug or kiss I’m not going to check the green pass. It’s not as if there’s an epidemic or was an epidemic within the last 2 years. A sick person will stay home.
Neither Fauci nor anyone else will tell me whom to hug and how many people to invite.

    • Uh uh uh. If you kiss your spouse or children, 10 cops will kick in your front door and have you lead away in chains by our well respected NYPD. Rules are rules. You must follow orders.
