FLOODING TRAGEDY: Rav Shmiel Duvid Weissmandl zt”l

It is with great sadness that Matzav.com reports the petirah of Rav Shmiel Duvid Weissmandl zt”l, who passed away after being swept away into high waters caused by flooding from Hurricane Ida.

Rav Shmiel Duvidwas traveling south on the New York Thruway, heading from Monsey to his home, when his car became enveloped in water.

Rav Shmiel Duvid, who resided in Mount Kisco, was a son of Rav Michoel Ber Weissmandl, renowned hatzolah hero and rosh yeshiva of Nira.

He was 69 years old.
