George Zimmerman — the neighborhood watch volunteer who killed unarmed black teen Trayvon Martin — is suing presidential candidates Elizabeth Warren and Pete Buttigieg for $265 million for allegedly trashing his reputation, according to a report Wednesday.
The lawsuit references a Feb. 5 tweet by Buttigieg that proclaimed, “Trayvon Martin would have been 25 today. How many 25th birthdays have been stolen from us by white supremacy, gun violence, prejudice, and fear? #BlackLivesMatter.” The post garnered 42,000 likes, 13,300 replies and 6,600 retweets in three days.
On the same day, Warren also tweeted, “My heart goes out to @SybrinaFulton and Trayvon’s family and friends. He should still be with us today. We need to end gun violence and racism. And we need to build a world where all of our children—especially young Black boys—can grow up safe and free.” The message received 7,300 likes and 1,000 retweets in three days.
The lawsuit says Warren and Buttigieg falsely characterized Martin’s death as a result of “gun violence” — a term that describes the “reckless and indiscriminate use of illegally owned firearms,” when Zimmerman acted in self-defense and was later acquitted.

This Zimmerman guy is a nut-case. He doesn’t know when to leave well enough, alone. He’s lucky he didn’t get jail time for murdering an unarmed black kid. He already sued the Martin family. The racist jury acted “stupidly” in exonerating Zimmerman of all charges.
George Zimmerman is a disgusting, conscienceless lowlife, but the jury acted correctly in acquitting him. Legally, it was simply self-defense and it had nothing to do with the Stand Your Ground law, either.
Sorry i disagree, by painting him as the wrong one, it is a perversion and desecration of his good name.
According to Wikipedia Zimmerman is a Christian, a Democrat and voted for Obama (but changed his mind after the trial), and of mixed descent including African. The claim is also made that Zimmerman’s state of mind (in other words, the “nut” aspect) came as a result of the trauma of the attack followed by arrest/jail, murder charge with misinformation and trial.
