The GOP-led House voted today to boot Democratic Rep. Ilhan Omar from the Foreign Affairs Committee over her past anti-Semitic comments after two Republicans once reluctant to oust her decided to support the resolution for removal, the NY Post reports.
The vote to remove Omar (D-Minn.) from the powerful panel after a heated floor debate broke along party lines, with 218 Republicans voting to strip her of the assignment and 211 Democrats backing their colleague. One Republican, David Joyce of Ohio, voted present.
House Speaker Kevin McCarthy (R-Calif.) announced the vote Wednesday after the chamber approved the Democratic assignments for the committee, setting the stage for Omar’s ouster. “Oh, so now we can vote her off,” McCarthy told reporters after the assignments were finalized.
GOPers cited six statements Omar made while in office that “under the totality of the circumstances, disqualify her from serving on the Committee of Foreign Affairs,” said Rep. Michael Guest (R-Miss.).
“All members, both Republicans and Democrats alike who seek to serve on Foreign Affairs, should be held to the highest standard of conduct due to the international sensitivity and national security concerns under the jurisdiction of this committee,” Guest said.
The actual resolution, proposed by Rep. Max Miller (R-Ohio), read: “Omar’s comments have brought dishonor to the House of Representatives… Omar clearly cannot be an objective decision-maker on the Foreign Affairs Committee given her biases against Israel and the Jewish people,” it continued.
Poor her! She’ll have no platform to spew her vitriol any longer! Question is why hasn’t the Democrat leaders done this when they were at the helm!!! I guess they’re in full alignment with her positions.

Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, went took it one step further, saying that the GOP’s action was one of the “disgusting legacies after 9/11,” a reference to he Sept. 11, 2001, attack — “the targeting and racism against Muslim-Americans throughout the United States of America. And this is an extension of that legacy.”
She added, “This is about targeting women of color.”
AOC is still under investigation by the House ethics committee. This frustrated woman shouldn’t be talking about others.
Shame on the Jewish DemocRATS who voted in her favor.
This anti-semite should be given a wastewater treatment committee assignment nothing else although she might stink up the whole country but you have to give this useless human being something to do.
