Greek parliament is expected to support Prime Minister Alexis Tsipras’ reform proposals in a snap vote on Friday, the parliamentary spokesman for the ruling Syriza party told reporters.
Tsipras is asking for parliamentary backing to negotiate a list of “prior actions,” or measures his government would take to convince creditors in a bailout deal. Party spokesman Nikos Filis told reporters there would “certainly” be a deal today.
Greece submitted a detailed written proposal on Thursday, requesting a 53.5 billion euro loan from the eurozone’s bailout fund, the European Stability Mechanism (ESM). Read more.
