Anti-Semite Rep. Ilhan Omar (D-MN), a controversial figure known for her vocal criticism of Israel, faces a potential censure resolution following remarks she made during a recent visit to Columbia University. According to Fox News Digital, Omar drew criticism after referring to certain Jewish students as “pro-genocide.”

The resolution against Omar is being spearheaded by Rep. Don Bacon (R-NE), as per a source familiar with the matter cited by Fox News Digital.

During her visit to Columbia University, Omar engaged with anti-Israel protesters who had established a presence on campus.

Accompanied by her daughter, Isra Hirsi, who had faced suspension from the university due to her involvement in anti-Israel activism, Omar participated in the campus protests.

In an interview with Fox 5 television during her visit, Omar remarked, “I actually met a lot of Jewish students that are in the [anti-Israel] encampment, and I think it is really unfortunate that people don’t care about the fact that all Jewish kids should be kept safe and that we should not have to tolerate antisemitism or bigotry from all Jewish students, whether they are pro-genocide or anti-genocide.”

According to Fox News Digital, Bacon’s resolution highlights Omar’s comments as potentially inciting violence against the Jewish community.

In addition to condemning her remarks, Bacon’s resolution accuses Omar of a pattern of inflammatory rhetoric perpetuating anti-Semitic stereotypes.

Omar, a member of the progressive “Squad” of Democrats known for challenging the policies of the Biden administration, has faced repeated backlash for her positions on Israel.

In 2019, Omar faced criticism for suggesting on Twitter that Republican criticism of her was influenced by the pro-Israel lobby AIPAC.

While she offered a somewhat apologetic response, Omar ultimately deleted the controversial tweets.

In another incident, Omar shared a video on Twitter in which she appeared to draw a comparison between Israel and the United States on one side and Hamas and the Taliban on the other.

More recently, Omar sparked controversy for her condemnation of Israel’s actions during its conflict with Hamas.

She faced criticism after retweeting an image of deceased children, claiming they were victims of Israeli airstrikes on Gaza. Subsequently, it was revealed that the image depicted children who had died due to a nerve gas attack by the Syrian army.

Furthermore, Omar was swift to blame Israel for an explosion at a Gaza hospital, which was later determined to have been caused by a rocket launched by Islamic Jihad.
