The U.S. government’s health care website, HealthCare.gov, was breached in July by a hacker who uploaded malicious software, according to a report in the Wall Street Journal.
The hacker apparently intended to use the system in future cyberattacks on other websites. The breach was discovered last week by health officials, though they said no personal data was taken. This marks the first successful hack of the federal health insurance exchange. Read more at The Hill.
