Ten months after the Meron tragedy, the Israeli police presented the Forum of the Families of the Meron Tragedy with items from the scene whose owners were never identified.
“We hope to use the items as part of a corner of remembrance on Mount Meron which will certify that the greatest civil tragedy since the state was founded is not forgotten,” a representative of the forum said.
Meanwhile, the Authority for Land Affairs Enforcement destroyed the Kohanim Bridge, the last of three illegal bridges on the compound.
These include the Dov Bridge, near where the tragedy occurred; the Mehadrin Bridge, meant to enhance tznius; and the Kohanim Bridge, which gave kohanim access to the site over numerous kevorim.
