President Donald Trump has tested positive for the novel coronavirus, he tweeted on Thursday night. The first lady also tested positive.

Trump got tested for the disease after his close confidant and White House counselor, Hope Hicks, tested positive earlier this week.

Hicks traveled with Trump aboard Air Force One to and from his debate with Democratic nominee on September 29, according to Bloomberg News. She was also in close contact with White House adviser Stephen Miller and campaign adviser Jason Miller when she was not wearing a mask.

White House chief of staff Mark Meadows, Trump campaign manager Bill Stepien, and national security adviser Robert O’Brien were also on Air Force One when Trump and Hicks were on it.

Trump told Fox News that he got tested for coronavirus after the Hicks news broke, telling the network, “Whether we quarantine or whether we have it, I don’t know. We’ll see what happens. Who knows.”

  1. wow the media is going to have fun with this both democrats and republicans. the republicans are going to say that the the democrats gave it to them because everyone by the debate got tested before. and the democrats are going to its because trump doesn’t wear a mask

  2. “Trump got tested for the disease after his close confidant and White House counselor, Hope Hicks, tested positive earlier this week.” One CANNOT contract a disease from someone the next day or a few days later. It takes 12 days or a minimum of 10 days to catch a virus from someone else, unless he already had it in his body.
