A senior adviser to Iran’s supreme leader expressed support for Hamas’s surprise assault on Israel from Gaza, while the Lebanese terror organization Hezbollah claimed that it was connected to an expected peace deal between Israel and Saudi Arabia.

“We support this operation,” said Yahya Rahim Safavi, according to Iran’s ISNA news agency.

Safavi expressed backing for the Palestinian terrorists “until the liberation of Palestine and Jerusalem.”

At a parliament session, Iranian lawmakers chanted “Down with Israel,” “Down with America” and “Welcome Palestine,” according to a video published by the Tasnim news agency.

Meanwhile, the Lebanese Hezbollah terror organization said that the attack was in response to both “Israel’s continued occupation and a message to those seeking normalization with it.”

The United States has been working on a landmark peace deal between Israel and Saudi Arabia, which many believed could be signed in the next few months.

Hamas killed more than 700 Israelis  as it launched a massive offensive from the Gaza Strip, including firing more than 3,000 rockets and sending dozens of Palestinian terrorists to infiltrate the Jewish state. JNS
