Hezbollah anti-tank missiles on Sunday struck inside several civilian communities along Israel’s northern border.

According to the Upper Galilee Regional Council, the missiles scored hits on homes in Moshav Avivim, Moshav Margaliot and Kibbutz Shnir, causing significant damage and fires. No casualties were reported, although a man needed to be rescued from a damaged house in Avivim.

The Israel Defense Forces said on Sunday afternoon that “throughout the day, about 15 launches were detected from Lebanese territory towards the Shlomi area [in the Western Galilee], and a number of additional launches to different areas in the country’s north.”

Hezbollah took responsibility for firing the missiles at the largely evacuated border towns, saying it attacked in response to Israeli Air Force strikes on the terrorist group in Southern Lebanon.

IAF jets on Sunday attacked infrastructure in Naqoura and Ayta ash Shab following overnight strikes in Lebanon. In addition, IDF artillery attacked Hezbollah targets in Khiam, Hula, Markaba and Kafr Kila.

At least six Hezbollah terrorist operatives were killed in the IAF’s reprisal attacks throughout the day on Sunday, Ynet reported.

Israel is determined to restore security on the border with Lebanon and create conditions that will allow displaced residents to return to the far north, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said on Thursday.

“We have detailed, important and even surprising plans,” the premier told troops during a visit to IDF Northern Command headquarters in Safed. “But I will not share these plans … with the enemy,” said Netanyahu, adding the military is “constantly in action on the northern front.”

The IDF has already killed “hundreds” of Hezbollah operatives in Southern Lebanon since the Iranian-backed terrorist group joined the war against the Jewish state in support of Hamas on Oct. 8, he declared.

Hezbollah has carried out near-daily attacks on Israel since joining the war against the Jewish state. The attacks have killed more than 20 Israelis and an Indian worker, and inflicted considerable damage.

More than 80,000 residents of 42 northern Israeli communities within 6.2 miles of the Lebanon border remain internally displaced, with most of them housed in hotels, due to the ongoing Hezbollah threat.
